Fundations
Fundations is the phonics program we use to help promote word building and spelling. The main goal is for each child to master letter identification, letter sounds, and be able to blend sounds together to read words.
Daily 5
The Daily 5 is a series of literacy tasks which students complete daily while the teacher meets with small groups or confers with individuals. It is a structure that will help students develop the daily habits of reading, writing, and working with peers that will lead to a lifetime of independent literacy. Each day, your child will participate in activities such as "Read to Self," "Read to Someone," "Work on Writing," "Word Work," and "Listen to Reading." You may hear your students use these terms and refer to Daily 5 at home.

Math
My Math is our math program designed to give students a firm foundation of math skills. It provides a colorful intuitive lesson format that is engaged, incorporates technology, visuals, and is kid friendly. My Math is hands on manipulatives and nightly homework that is to be completed at home with parental support. My Math uses games and workbooks in the classroom to reinforce concepts that are taught throughout the year. We also use Flash Masters to help improve our math fact skills.
Daily 3
Students select from three choices, working independently toward personalized goals, while the teacher meets individual needs through whole-group and small-group instruction, as well as one-on-one conferring. Students select from "Math by Myself", "Math Journal", and "Math with Someone". Daily 3 allows students to develop independence, stamina, and accountability. I am able to meet differentiated needs, helping to ensure that all students meet standard.
